Fall arrest blocks

The connection between the anchor point and the harness is responsible for the catching and braking of a possible fall. It ensures the forces released on the body are smaller than 6 kN.

A fall arrest block works in much the same way as a seat belt: it is a self-retracting line made from tape or steel wire. Fall arrest blocks can be a good alternative for lanyards to minimise the free falling distance and the free space limit. Furthermore, they offer more freedom and are available in longer lengths for descending into deep shafts, for example.
