Inbound logistics and registration of contaminated equipment

After an incident, all contaminated personal protective equipment of firefighters is brought to the workshop in closed containers. The task involves unloading, recording and validating the approval of the cylinders and then forwarding all delivered items to the first station in the workshop.

Cleaning and drying of respirators

Follow the step-by-step process, beginning with manual pre-washing of the back plate, then machine cleaning using the pneumatic pressure control to prevent water ingress, and finally the drying phase. Service technicians should wear appropriate respiratory and body protection to prevent indirect contamination during this work.

Cleaning and drying of full face masks

A full face mask is contaminated twice: from the scene of the incident and also by the wearer himself, through his bodily fluids. Therefore, cleaning a full face mask also has hygienic significance. Cylinder fill

Follow the process of refilling breathing air cylinders with breathing gas, using a filling panel, quick connectors and air quality monitoring system. Refilled cylinders are approved, sealed and marked as “filled.” The cylinder is then ready to be reassembled with a breathing apparatus for the next use. Upon completion of the cleaning and drying process, the equipment is transferred to the clean room of the service shop.

Testing & reconditioning

The step-by-step process continues with the reassembly of mask, LDV and backplates. Then the components are tested on an automated test bench, supported by documentation software.

Outbound tracking and logistics

Before being transported back to the fire station, all cleaned firefighting equipment must be identified, registered, sealed and packaged for safe shipment.
